I just had a 4.5" Rubicon Express Long-Arm lift installed. When I went to pick it up. the tech said he was unable to get adequate clearance between the stock Rubicon rock slider and the 37" tires. He said to try it out and if I notice any tire-rubbing to return and he would cut back the rock sliders. I left unconvinced and I am still skeptical. Check out the clearance. Is this typical? It looks to me like he could have given me more clearance.

you didn't do anything wrong, that's what it looks like. you will rub on the slider. you need to trim the slider and the corner of the pinch seam behind it.
you can take out the end cap then trim the slider then put the end cap back in. it is kind of a PITA.

personally i would not let the installer cut it. the visual result can be pretty subjective.
at least ask him to lay it out and let you see if you like it before he starts hacking away. or look at another one he has trimmed.

You don't have to chop the freakin rail with that kit. Have them move the freakin axle back an inch. If they don't know that , they shouldnt be puttin the kits on. It'a longarm, plenty of adjustment available or they are just dumbfucks.
As my other post stated , he doesn't "have" to trim it with the longarm kit he has. They need to move the axle back an inch. I would personally trim it "but" the installer should have moved the axle back farther and tested, then see if rubbed any and informed the OP that he would have to cut the rail if it did rub. The installer is either lazy or don't know their shit.
