Default Reinforced hood "step"?

Has anyone reinforced their hood area near that windshield so it could be used as a step for getting things off a roof rack?

I've seen these cowl covers (pic below), but didn't know if they would offer the strength needed or if someone had extended something like this further out the hood.

What do you think?

im a lightweight (150 lb)
and i can stand on my cowl and hood vents without denting them, so unless the framing underneath is the weak link than id say the extra thickness would help

Yeah, have stood on the very corner piece without any bending or denting, but was thinking of more of a "platform" to be able to load and unload a front basket on my roof rack (in infront of my roof top tent).

If I come up with anything I'll let you know.

So you want a legit piece of scaffolding. Id check into laws on mounting anything in front of the windshield first

or alternatively id look into making one of those ladders like campers and RVs have and mount it on one of those HD bumpers with the tire carrier
