I keep track of every tank and thought some folks might be interested in the effect of the lift.

Here is the trend for the past couple months fill ups

15.51 MPG (did some trail riding)

16.86 MPG (4" Rancho Sport lift installed during this tank)

14.73 MPG (trip across State must have been headwind)

14.67 MPG (nothing note worthy )

Rolling average before lift +/- 17.28 MPG

Rolling Average after lift +/- 16.35 MPG

Still on the stock 255/75-17 and 3.73 auto so the only variable was the lift install. I also kept the air dam in place... for now.

Just pulled the trigger on 35" KM2's. I'll have them on in the next couple days so I'll report back in a month or so with the... ahhh... bad news...

Haha. I get about 12.5 in California as well with no mods.

 

I swear JK mileage is all over the place. I had a buddy that had a 2007 2 door auto that was bone stock. He got 13 - 14 mpg. Then he traded it in on a 2009 unlimited auto and he gets 18 mpg.

I have a 2008 rubicon 6 speed with a 3" lift, 35" KM2s and 4.88 gears. I got 18.5 MPG on my last tank. That was all city driving. Although I do usually drive early in the morning so traffic was light.

 

My 2009 Unlimited stock gets 18-20 on the highway. I figured the average on a recent roadtrip to Utah and on the way there was consistently getting around 19 MPG. The way back we fought a nasty headwind so it was down around 16.

 

I was supprised with my jk i get 19 in town and 23-24 on the highway thats one of the reasons im scared of lift and bigger tires. i have the tf leveling kit and that made no difference on the mpg.

The best I can get is 15 mpg. Lately I have been getting about 13 at best. My mileage goes way down if I have to start and stop alot.

 

With the new 35's. Was it large or does it just look better? And how about the power and throttle response? Please keep updating the MPG rates too. Good thread. What 35's did you get?

 

It has a lot to do with the terrain you drive. I live in southern central Indiana (HILLS) and fuel mileage is on the low side. But when I am up north mileage goes up Flatter ground. My best 17-18, on average 16+or- and I drive easy.
