Default odd popping

08 jk.. installed rubicon express 3.5 standard lift. all good for first 500 miles or so.. Went out wheelin up a slightly difficult trail.. great performance.. since then i have an odd popping sound. usually when first accelerating, sometimes when breaking.. I have gone back and re-tightened everything there is to re-tighten.. even the shocks.. all is super tight. anyone have any similar experiences?

Is the sound coming from the front or the back?

when inside the car, it feels, and sounds as though it's coming from the front(possibly passenger side).. but when you are outside the vehicle, listening, it's hard to determine.. any chance of bolts being too tight? or is there something i should grease..

Have you bounced it up and down, jacked it up and down to see if anything is hitting/rubbing

I've had someting similar and can't figure it out. I'm wondering if it's a driveshaft.

the sound only happens with forward /backward motion.. up and down, shaking/ rocking does nothing.. it happens when moving forward, or stopping.. will check the boots for tears, but just glancing at them, they see, in great condition. the only bolts that may be lose at all are on top of the shock. what is the best way to tighten that bolt without scaring the shaft of the shock with vice grips.. that being said, the bushing is squished a bit, so i think the bolt may be tight enough.. extremely frustrating.

Sounds as though the CA's are shifting, check the cambolts for the front and the rear.
Also, to tighten those shock nuts, use a rachet wrench and put a rag inbetween the visegrip jaws and it won't marr the shaft.

Mine started doing that last week, poping when stopping or transitions with a weight shift, it was my sway bar disconnect bolt on the right bottom. It had loosened about a quarter turn..... I tightened it up and popping is now gone..
