Default 1" M.O.R.E body lift to reduce floor heat

Anyone done this? I have an excessive amount of heat on my floors, so much that it melted my Quadratech Floor liners in the rear and a shoe on the trip back from Moab. I did relocate the Magnaflow 44 under the drivers seat, but there is heat shielding there. I guess just not enough.

So the body lift will give me an extra inch of clearance for the tires (consider this a bonus), and maybe reduce some of this heat (letting more air pass over exhaust).

Also going to look into attaching some heat shielding material to the bottom side of the carpet to help reduce the heat.

Thoughts, suggestions???

Try using some Black Satin or black grill paint on your exhaust as a heat barrier coating. I know that Krylon has some stuff that's available at any Home Depot or Lowes.

Paint wont change enough if your melting stuff in your cab, you could also use this for a extreme case.

Exhaust Wrap - Black

SKU: 010120
Wrapping headers and down pipes is an important first step in controlling unwanted underhood radiant heat. Keeping exhaust gases hotter within the exhaust system helps in decreasing exhaust density and increases exhaust flow. This improves exhaust scavenging resulting in cooler air intake temperatures for an improvement in performance and a gain in horsepower.
Design Engineering stainless steel Locking Ties are the perfect way to fasten exhaust wrap for a easy, clean and professional installation.
  • Reduce under hood temperatures a realistic 50%
  • Improves horsepower
  • Withstands 1200°F direct/2000°F radiant
  • Only exhaust wrap with installation guide lines
  • Added durability and heat retention
NOTE: Design Engineering HT Silicone Coating spray is highly recommended for DEI glass fiber wrap to penetrate, seal, protect and prolong the lifespan of exhaust wrap.

I may look in to that wrap. Seems like a pretty good idea.

The vendor may be able to offer more information but from past experience the wrap will make a nice environment for rust. I've had a couple of sets of headers (non-Jeep vehicles) that rusted through long before their time becuase of fiberglass wrap. That was a decade ago and products may have evolved since then. Just a thought for what it's worth.
