Default Help with getting mud tires and rims??

I am looking at getting new shoes for the X. But I have a question that maybe someone could help me out with. Would there be a difference in getting 15in rim to staying with my 17's. I am not sure if there would be a advantage to this only price when it comes to buying tires. Of course then comes the size of tire. There is no lift on there yet that is still a good distance away. But I have read that 35's will fit tight if I trim the fenders. And if possible post which tires and size you have. Thanks

I know a lot of folks who like 15" wheels. You can get more tires that are merely D rated instead of E rated at that size. I kept my stock 17" wheels and got myself a set of Hankook Dynapro MT's. I got stock size but I'm sure a set of 33's would have fit no problem. I especially wish I would have gotten 33's since I also just ordered the lift I didn't plan on getting. Next time, I guess.

There are issues with some 15" wheels and the brake calipers. Be sure to look for a backspace of 3.75-4.0".

Discount Tire Direct has a few that they have tested. (site sponsor, call or PM them for more info. You could also do a quick search for the threads they started listing the 15's they know are good.)

Thanks everyone for the help. I think I might do what Imack606 did. Have two set of rims and tires. I think I may go with 15's. I'll try to keep everyone updated. Thanks

i bought 16's and used tires and ran them for a year. the next year i priced out new tires. it was cheaper for me to buy 5 new 15's and 5 new tires, instead of 4 new tires for the 16's. i love the look of the 15s and the ride is much better off road. and i can flex my tires a lot more for better traction.

Generically, that's true, however, if a guy was looking at bias Interco's like Imack did (or I'm thinking about doing) it's only a few $ to go from 15" to 16", or even 17" for LTB's. Since Imack said 35.5", I'm suspicious he's running Q78-16 Bias TSL's. I'd really like that size, but @ $60+ each less for LTB's in 34x10.5x16's, I'll probably go that direction instead for wheeling.

I'm on the lookout for a set of 16" X wheels locally. I already run them w/ Spidertrax and my DD tires. Not really a mall poser compliant plan, but I'm cool w/ that.
