Default Best 35's for Street & MPG

Hi All,

I am getting some 35's for my 08 2 door, I rarely go off road, but there is lots of snow where i live in MN, so some traction is needed.
I want a tire that will last a while, is good on the street and allows for decent milage.

Any recommendations?

also I can either get 15" wheels or use my 17" stock moabs.

BFG all terrains. I talked to a guy the other day who had a worn set on his turck. (I'm talking like 10- 20% tread left.) He said he's had them on it for 8 years. They will last a lifetime and perform well off road, in the snow, rain, whatever you throw at them.

Only down fall is that they are only a few bucks cheaper than Mud tires. You just wouldn't be replacing them as fast.

I have Yokohama Geolander A/T-S 315x75x16 on my 2 door. I haven't drove them in the snow yet this year but they have been ever where else. Great off road, Really quite on the street, and great in bad weather i.e. rain. I just bought my spare from tiredirect.com and only cost around $168. Seems like the tread is holding up well too.

Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's. Excellent for highway and winter snow and ice. Great mileage and silent. Very inexpensive. And like a Tootsie-Roll_Pop they last a long time.

Ditto on the BFG all terains. I'm at almost 50,000 miles, plenty of life left on them. They handle really well in snow and off road, even on highway they're smooth and fairly quiet.

DON'T get Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with kevlar tires if you want a smooth ride. I bought a set of 35s and they are the worst tires I have owned since 1993. They are lumpy, bumpy, but always at a different speed depending on how they were parked, because they flat spot after being parked. They've been balanced, and re-balanced twice more (one of which was a special road force balancing), but the problem is excess run out due to poor construction quality and/or quality control by Goodyear. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll wear out fast.

I run Mickey Thompson MTZ's and they might be a little loud but they do great in the snow and ice here in Oklahoma and as long as you rotate them they get pretty good mileage . My rig has around 30K and they are around 40%

Most of my family use mtrs with kevlar and i personally have my 35s as mtrs w/ kevlar and i dont have that problem, yes they have the humming sound but handling is supurb on all seasons especially offroad.

Have you done a wheel alignment? my ride was all crazy after my lift and tires and after the alignment i never had the problem again.
