I got my 2010 JK and the only manual I got with it was the DVD. If you download the User Guide from Jeep, it states that if you are the original owner of the Jeep you can call 1-800-992-1997 and they will send you a printed copy of the manual. I called last week. They told me it would be in my mailbox in 5 to 7 business days.

I've already run into an instance when I needed the paper copy.

I am still a little shocked that Jeep wouldn't have included a printed one to begin with. I understand that some luxury vehicles are coming with their manuals on an iPad (iPad included!), and that is fitting for a luxury vehicle...

But what is it saying when the manual comes on a crummy DVD... oh, yeah, that just screams "cost cutting"....

Agree. It sucks. I will be calling tomorrow to get my paper version.

Yes you do....but it's the more like a DVD holder than a manual/booklet cover!

 

My DVD came with the denim cover. It was the size for paper manual.

 

would have made sense for JEEP to supply the DVD to be a FULL version of the paper manual. sad thing is, it only includes the very "basics", just have cooler pictures and animation(removing top). i didnt understand that?
full version on DVD, maybe..that thing got trashed on the first day...

 

Well maybe I got the manual then. It reads more like a brochure, mine also came with a DVD in a green denim cover. I haven't even cracked the DVD yet, will check it out today.

Jeep is also developing an app for iPhones, Androids, etc. With the manual and some other extras that is specific to your vehicle.

I have seen the one for the Cherokee, it's a pretty cool app. I would imagine they will roll out the Wrangler app when then '11's come out. Have you seen the Jeep Tripcast app?
