Issues with soundbar cap and wraparound windjammer on 2 door
Man I am not having the best of luck with this set up. I just bought the Bestop windshield channel, bikini, soundbar cap, wraparound windjammer and duster.
The soundbar cap and windjammer came late but I tried to put on the bikini and duster twice now and have not been able to get it to stretch out. Frustrating! I'm near the Seattle area where the weather has been above 70 the whole time and I've had these products for over a week.
But that's not the real issue. I just got the soundbar cap and wraparound windjammer yesterday and realize that one of them has the "J" loop connector sewn on backwards, though I cannot confirm which one since I can't find detailed pics on Bestop's website. So I waited to call them this morning and their telephone is all garbled and I was able to hear, only through every other word, that they were having technical difficulties with their customer service.
The best description I can make is that the loop or open part of the "J" faces the front of the Jeep on both the soundbar cap and the windjammer. There is only one way to connect them and when off the vehicle and I connect them, one of the products is facing the wrong way.
UGH!

I just realized through searching the Internet that it's the soundbar cap that has the connector sewn on backwards...ugh! Of course on a Friday and this one had to come from Kansas - who would have thought that no one has these in stock in the Northwest.
I don't have much to contribute to your problem except perhaps a little moral support. Bestop, sadly, has a great product line, but the quality has really fallen lately. Plenty of complaints here on this forum similar to yours that support that statement.

Hey folks! New JK owner here in Seattle. I am also looking to get the Bestop Header Bikini, Wraparound Windjammer, Duster Deck Cover 52580-35KWA Bestop Bikini combo. I wanted a way to use the back seat area as storage instead of having to put down the seats every time I need to load something into the back. I also have a subwoofer back there that I need storage for. I was also going to purchase the Tuffy Security Deck Enclosure Black 173-01 Tuffy security enclosure for a little more piece of mind. But as I have read there are some leakage issues to contend with. I was hoping someone had an update on how/if the rain can be alleviated, especially in the Northwest's nearly always damp climate.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Put pictures up Of the issues. I'm local to the Seattle area (puyallup) and I run the short bikini top, the one that just covers back to the sound bar, and it works amazing. I also run the door surrounds to pull the top tighter and seal the gap and so it's not wrapped around the roll bar anymore. Here are a few pictures: (sorry they are so crappy, I hop this helps!!)
As for the deck cover, that this is a piece of cake
just pull it over the rails and tighten the straps around the roll bar and secure the tailgate bar (I run mine without a tailgate bar because I don't have one yet) also it's a good ides to create some kind of bar for underneath to raise the cover so the water doesn't puddle up in the middle.

Do you run the bikini/deck cover combo all year with no water leakage? It didn't look (from the photos) like you had a windjammer, do you? Do you know what brand or model numbers you currently have? I've been reading up on reviews and some people have said it leaks a fair amount and some say it doesn't leak at all. Since you are in the area and know what kind of crazy rain we deal with almost year round I would trust if yours doesn't leak mine should be ok too.
. I've been in the rain a few times with just the top and tonneau cover with minimal issues the only rain that gets in is from behind since you don't have anything covering your back lol.. You may get a little tiny bit wet from to time but nothing the wife and I can't deal with! I will literally run the tonneau and bikini probably most of the year since i know it works one hell of a lot better than just the two freedom tops, those suck for running in the rain. That was a terrible design by mopar, just with the shape and the way they developed the sound bar setup. As a caveat: I have been driving to work The past two-three weeks with this combo most time with the doors on and it's been in the low 40's and I have just a sweatshirt on at 60+mph and the heater on low and I'm just fine!!
I don't have the part numbers but I will post links from q-tec to the exact one that I have
Bikini top: http://www.quadratec.com/products/11130_023X_PG.htm
Tonneau: http://www.quadratec.com/products/11154_013X_PG.htm
I do however run the factory mopar door surrounds I picked up on CL, if you guys are on there often a guy has the entire bikini, tonneau, windjammer combo for sale if you type in "JK"
hope this helps!!
