Cleaning the Engine
I've had the JK for nearly 2 years now and after several times offroading the engine is covered in dry mud and other debris. I was wondering if any of you had any pointers on how to best clean the engine. I've considered just spraying it with water but I don't want to get the wrong things wet. Any help is much appreciated.
About every 4-6 months I spray I cover the intake and spray the engine down with Gunk Engine Brite (I think?
). It can be found with the car cleaning products in walmart. Let it sit a while, then rince it down good and your done...
One tip: Only wash a cold engine...if your engine is hot, and you introduce cold water you could crack something...

I’m using the generic brand from my auto part store. In the instruction they require to have the engine warm. I also spray a mix of generic pink soap and water let it sit for 5-10 minutes and rinse. When I’m done I go for a drive to get all the water and moisture out. The only good word of advice I can give you is go easy on water pressure as to much pressure can result in weird error code
