2-Door JK & Campers
Hi Everyone,
Major lurker here on this forum, but you're a great group of Jeep folk and I thank you for the advice even though you haven't been speaking directly to me!
I scanned through all of your Camper threads showing photos of your campers, but since there is a large percentage of you that are 4-dt JK owners, (naturally, the better option for towing a camper) I'm interested in seeing what sort of campers are being towed with your Two door JK's.
I have an '08 that I'm interested in getting somethign to camp with. I just sold my ski-boat and am looking forward to spending days in the campground with my daughter/wife.
Not looking to go offroading with this camper, and ultimately I'd want it to sleep 4... maybe even possibly hold an AC unit. Yeah, I know my demands are high but I know exactly what I'm looking for and ultimately would like to get it!
The list seems short - but what types of campers are you ACTUALLY towing with the 2-dr JK's?
Show me your 2-dr JK Campers!
Thanks in advance!
Sean

You might check out A frame campers. Aliner and Chalet both make models that work good with the 2dr JK.
We have had our Aliner Expedition since January and use it almost every week! I'm not setup to post a picture here yet but let me know if you want a few picks.

I didn't know about the Aliner or Chalet brands so thanks for pointing them out.
I have also been looking at QuickSilver Campers... anyone had any success with that?

Mine Sleeps 4 plus the dog, has a referigerator/Freezer, gas stove, stores my picnic table and benches, has hot water heater and shower tent, camping toilet, awning, led lights, 19 gallons of water, marine grade batteries for recharging devices, and can go anywhere the jeep goes. Has connectios to pulg in at RV parks if that is where you stop.
Sits in the garage just waiting to go.....no need to pack up the jeep everything I need for a week or weekend is in the trailer and ready to go. Weighs abot 1500lbs and JK pulls it all through the Colorado Mts.

The tow weight of the 2 door is based on the wheel base - I use an Equal-I-Zer hitch system which has the sway control built into it. I have used this system for years on my short wheel base vehicles. Actually, the jeep with the aliner in tow is more stable in gusty winds than the jeep by itself! -- rock solid.
The advantage of the a frames is they have no canvas to heat, cool, or dry out - and they are much easier to set up and take down!
They make plenty of models smaller than mine!
Take care, Bill

Interesting... you tow the Aliner Expedition with a 2-dr JK? It looks like the weight is 2100 lbs... which is a base weight higher than the 2-dr JK's capacity. Or do you have a 4-dr jk?
