Default what should I pay for set 538s on rubicon

I am ready to have my gears done . i start to see how much it would cost a local shop quoted $1500.00 why is it such a expensive upgrade . I dont mind paying it as long I am not getting over charged . any ideas let me know

Around $1200-$1500 sounds in the ballpark.

i doubt that he has them yet. i think that is 500 bucks to high. around hear at a local shop not a chain you will get them done for less than a grand. heck there are advertisments for 999.99 on here for gears being done. the ratio should not matter on the price.

I paid 700 labor total for the front and rear install last month. That included fluids, a drive shaft install, and front brake line replacement.

I've seen anywhere from $900 to $1600 for the gears and installation. I went with the place that charged $900, and that included a free oil change to synthetic oil at 500 miles.

I would keep looking for another shop. Generally the places that charge more for the gear change are charging more labor because they are taking longer to do it. They take longer to do it because they are not as good at it, and they are not as good at it because they don't do as many gear changes. So you probably don't want them doing the work on your Jeep anyway.
