Default Front axle housing bent - How to tell?

All,

What are some ways of determining if a front Dana 30 or 44 axle housing is bent? I might be purchasing a used housing and want to check this before I pay.

Thanks

If you just want to check the shafts pull them and roll them on a flat table edge to see if they are true. If you want to check the sleeves i'd use a good level and prop the left sleeve up until it is level. Then check the level on the right. Do it in the orthogonal axis too. Not precision but that's how I would check them.
