So I got pulled over last night, no top, no doors. cop says I pulled you over because you don't have a third brake light and your license plate light is burn out.

I said, plate light must have burnt out and yah I broke the spare tire carrier wich is where the third brake lights is.

Cop says, oh I though maybe it was part of the hard top(why didn't I think of that) and no big deal about the plate light just get it fixed and make up something for a third brake light.


never asked me for my drivers license/insurance/ownership.

and better yet never said anything about the lack of mirrors, or empty beer cans.

it all ended with have a good night, nice jeep by the way.

 

I bet he's got a Jeep at home and just wanted to check your Jeep out. Pretty cool cop IMO.

 

yeah sounds like he just wanted to check it out. i actually asked a cop at the pub i was if it was ok to have no doors, no top and only 1 mirror. said its all good. in the state of texas

 

Same, my buddy is an Alabama State Trooper and said you're ok without side mirrors in Alabama.

 

yeah im glad because i think the little side mirrors and stuff just look ugly.

 

Not for me. For some reason I'm paranoid when I use the mirrors, like I'm not seeing what's really in the mirrors. Prefer looking over the shoulder.

 

yeah i look in my mirrors but still look over shoulder ever turn or lane change.

Here in Quebec, he would have checked out the Jeep, then a friendly chat, and then, still hit you in the fface with a freakin racket style ticket.
