I just got back from the U-haul place and they wouldn't let me rent a tow dolley or anything else from them because my Jeep is a soft top. I asked her why and she didn't have an answer for me. So could someone tell me what is the danger of towing with a soft top, or atleast tell me why they wouldn't let me rent from them.

 

It so you cant sue them in an accident. Even though it is known that the top and doors provide no structural saftey in the event of a crash. Just like they wont rent a trailer to you if you drive a late 90's ford explorer, the fault was with firestone, not ford, but you still cant rent a trailer.
