D.I.Y. License Plate Relocation
So once I got my rear bumper done I figured, why not personalize it a bit more, the cheap way. I thought, if I can build a bumper, why not a simple license plate holder right?
So I started but taking off the old one, not too hard, just kinda winged it 'til I found all the screws, only took about fiver minutes. Next I made my own relocation cover out of some ligt duty sheet metal and bedlined it, saved having to buy the mopar one and personally, I like the flush mounted look of mine better

Next it was on to building the bracket, just used some 1" square stock and build a rectangle with four holes for the bolts of the license plate. I used a 90' piece of angle iron and drilled two more holes in it. I then popped the center cap out of the tire, and welded a piece of the 1" square stock to the mounting plate inbetween the lugs and drilled two holes for the angle iron to bold to after the tire is on. With a little alteration and extension of wires I mounted up the factory license plate light so it is all street legal and voila, this is what I got

I decided to not run a spare, or locate it inside for long trips. I bought the Poison Spyder "Tramp Stamp" to cover up the ugly on the gate. Made my own cover/CB mount, and used a plate frame with a 3rd brake light and plate light.
Do you ever get that long CB antenna hitting your tail light since its so close? maybe while offroading or going up driveways?

Hard to tell in the picture but it's about 3" away. I havent noticed any rubbing. Looking to get the Poison Spyder "Crusher Corners" soon then I will weld the tab in a better spot before paint.
Post a few pics when youre done
