Default Teraflex ...Elka Shocks... ready to install!!

I am starting my install on my new 2010 JK Unlimited.. Parts are rolling in.. Opened the teraflex 4 " short arm complete kit without shocks and with all 8 arms.... Elka 4 shock external res shocks... Both sets of 5:38 G2 gears and install kits... front and rear CV drive shafts ... 37" BFG KM2's here tomorrow..

First impressions.... WOW!! Everything is beefy... looks awesome!!!

The only complaint i have is the high $$$$$$ Elka shocks!! They are built great!! Threaded tubes top to bottom so they can be installed in coilovers... BUT... they used standard hose clamps to secure the canisters to the shocks..... and instead of opening the hose clamps and installing them .. they slid them on ... scratching the tubes as they went.. I am sure they work fine.. but paying $1400 for shocks you would think they would be the Holy Grail out the box!! On a side note .. they are incredible looking and should preform beautifully!!!

I will keep the updates flying as i install over the next couple days!!

Lift on and shocks are installed ... pics soon... only minor problems...did it by myself in 8 hours.. not too bad.

So tonight had a friend of mine come over to start the rear end gear upgrade to 5:38s.. He is a Chrysler mechanic.. Pull the rear diff cover ... out flows the metal!!!!! Piles...and piles... so you are thinking like I am with 187 miles on the Jeep...UGGGGG!!! So we proceed .. trying to pull the pinion... it had fused the CV yoke to the pinion ... after 20 minutes of banging away, off it came and out came the pinion... upon inspection the pinion bearing was chewed to pieces.. and black from heat.. he told me this is not as uncommon as you think... rear end setup wrong from the factory!! SO ... it went down hill from here. opened my rear set of G2 gears and noticed that there were chips on the ring gear.. and on the pinion.. so we opened the second set ... same problems!!! They were both packed poorly .. only rapped in plastic and the pinion was cradled on top of the pinion in a cardboard holder. So during shipping the pinion bounced around on top of the ring gear like popcorn in a popper!!!:(( so my brand new jeep is high and dry with no gears in the rear and am waiting til tomorrow morning to see hoe soon they can overnight a set to me?? So wow!!
