Default Rancho Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier

Anyone got it and/or have pics of them (other than the ones from rancho)? I'm looking into getting this but I'm not sure how sturdy it is and if it will take gerry can mounts. The carrier looks like it moves the tire too far away from the tail gate.

i don't personally have this bumper but a friend of mine does. he told me not to purchase it to get something else. but it does what it is made for. he's got 37's and the carrier holds the spare just fine. the tire is pushed away from he tail gate and you should have enough room for some jerry cans in there. the only problem that he has with his is that when ever he unlatches the carrier and swings it out his 37 rubs against the passenger side tail light. and when ever he is closing the carrier he literally has to lift up on the carrier and align the holes just right for the pin to drop back down. and it rattles like a biatch driving down the road. so if you have a little lady like i do, then it's probably not going to be the best carrier for her to access the tailgate for groceries and what not. just from what i have seen personally. but it is a cheap carrier/bumper combo. so good luck

I have it...I bought it used and it gets the job done. However, as the saying goes...you get what you pay for Mine rattled like crazy until I started wedging a rubber bushing between the swing out carrier and the main frame, but that forces me to have to push real hard on it to close and get the pin in...beats listening to the rattle though. I'm not a big fan of the pin latch style, but I'll eventually come up with some type of other latching mechanism. It holds my 35 with no problems. All in all, it serves it's purpose and is a heck of a lot cheaper than most of the other options. Again, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the input from the both of you.

Nick08, do you think I can put a gerry can between the tailgate and carrier (mounted on the tailgate and carrier? Also, Is there room to weld plates on the side of the bumper to make it wide enough to extend to the corner of the body?

Thanks again!

I've got it as well. I dont have the rattle like the other guys, and frankly it suites my purpose....I was going for the minimal look, and this bumper does just that. The pull pin latch is a PAIN in the a**. Im working on a new latch system, but short of that, I have no complaints... I have wheeled it plenty of times and not one problem to report. Like the other guys said, there is plenty of room behind it for whatever you need...just my .02
