Smile Homemade Stubby

I decided I needed a bumper that had a better approach angle, so me and buddy discussed it and made one last night.
First I needed to do some trimming, so I cut 3 1/2 inches off of the frame rails

Next we made the main body of the bumper

We cut the ends off at an angle for a little style

We plated those and painted it

Here is the approach angle

The bumper was made out of 3/16th and has 4 5/8 inch bolts holding it in. The tip of the d rings are just shy of where the end of the frame was. This is exactly what I wanted, it is simple and functional. Feel free to ask any questions about anything. The total width is 34 1/4 inches.

Looks great......have you thought about relocating the Warn control box behind the grill. That's what I plan to do as I can's stand the looks of the thing....

It will get relocated under the hood, but I didn't feel like doing it last night.

I MUST learn to weld! It's got to be a very proud feeling to build exactly what you want with your own two hands...
