Default Lift is done!

Well, I finally got my Teraflex 2.5 coil lift with shock extensions installed! Everything went very smoothly, just took my time and enjoyed wrenching on the Jeep. Ride impression, very good, rides just like the stock Rubicon with just a touch more firmness in the ride. Only issues on the install, yes, the right front spring is a PITA! Steering wheel was quite a bit off when I got done, not sure what thats all about, as it took WELL more than 3/4 of a turn to center it back up (unless they meant 3-4 full turns) as that would be closer to what I needed to center the wheel back up. Complaints, well I do have one, I kinda wish that Teraflex would have included the 1/2" spacer for the rear springs like the do with the kits that include shocks. My front looks great, I gained close to 3.5" lift from stock, my rear was where I am a little disappointed. I gained right at 2" in the rear, which makes the Jeep set pretty much level with a full tank of gas. Problem is, I don't have my hard top on or my doors on, or my rear seat installed right now taking those measurements, so I'm a little scared that my Jeep ass is gonna be saggin a litte when I put those on. Will wait and see how things shake down and decide later if I want to put a spacer in the rear. Has anyone else had this issue? Still running stock wheels, will probably run them through winter and get new meats next spring. Oh, and thanks again Dave at Northridge for getting me a great deal on this kit!

Same impression as mine but I broke my front upper shock bolts. Very corroded from driving on the beach. My OME shocks are coming today from northridge and I have the day off!

Overall I wish I had the rear spacers as well!

I think it depends on where you get your 2-1/2" Teraflex lift kit as to weather you get the spacers or not.
I got mine from Northridge4x4 and the spacers were not included. So I called Joe at Teraflex and he shipped them out to free of charge.
Luckily I noticed the problem before I started to install the lift so the only problem was the inconvenience of waiting a few more days for the spacers to be delivered.
I am really glad that I have them installed as it sits "just right."

awesome, this was the lift I was looking at for my Rubicon. So the install wasn't that difficult? I am pretty good at wrenching and have the tools, just wondering if there is anything out of the ordinary about the install.

The lift, I thought was a pretty easy install. It took me longer than alot of people on here have done it in. But, I was in no hurry, just took my time and like I said, just enjoyed wrenching on the Jeep. I did grab a coil spring compressor tool but only used it on the front springs. It really is pretty straightforward. Oh, and contrary to what the instructions say, don't install the the rear bumpstop blocks until AFTER you have it back on the ground and have tightened and retorqued your control arms bolts. I caught it when I was getting ready to install the first block and thought, wait a sec, that isn't gonna give me room for a torque wrench in there. I forgot to mention that I installed the Teraflex LCA's also, I set them at 23" eye to eye and it seems perfect. I was kinda worried on the install of those, but they were extremely easy. You will really like the kit, but get the 1/2" spacers in the rear IMO. Thanks Turbo, I just might have to give Joe a call and see if I can twist his arm a little.
