Default Help: TeraFlex kit and new tires/wheels

I am new to this all and am already overwhelmed. I am picking up my new 07 4DR tomorrow and need new tires and wheels like yesterday. I want to buy the TeraFlex Leveling kit. With that, I don't want huge tires just ones that fit the truck. Should I stick with 16x8 and 265/75/16, bigger tires with the 16"s or goto 17"s? If I go 17's what size? I need to order soon so help. Please and thank you!

Welcome,

Wheels size, 16" or 17", isn't a big deal, but will be based on what you like more, and if you're looking for a specific tire, you may be a little limited in tire options for a specific wheel size. So you need to take into consideration the wheel size to the tire size and load range options. I run Pro Comp 7089 in 16" with 285/75 Cooper STT's (load range d) on them. I ran for a while at stock height, with slight rubbing, but then did the teraflex leveling spacer kit and there were no issues, and plenty of room.

Have you seen Teraflex's new 1.5" Performance leveling SPRING kit? It replaces your springs and gives you ~2" in the front and ~1" in the back. You can run 34" with this set up. Nice upgrade in springs but nothing too crazy requiring you to worry about caster and drive shafts. So if you're looking, for a minimal leveling lift I would say you can't go wrong with the leveling spring kit. And you can then run 285 295 or possibly 305 aspect tires.

No real different between 285/75r16 and 285/70r17, only that the 285/75/r16's are probably a little cheaper, as are the 16" wheels. Wheel options are similar going larger too.

I'm still waiting for the leveling kit, but I'm getting the wheels put on the rims today. I may see if they fit without the leveling kit for now. I need them on!!!!

I'm sure they will fit, with just a bit of rubbing at full turn in reverse or when stuffed. Just don't wheel to crazy until then.

And make sure to add some pics so we can see what it looks like when done.
