Default Anyone Running 33's with OME 2" lift?

This is the set up I'm interested in running on my JK. Just curious if anyone else has this set up and what their experience has been. Would this set up warrant re-gearing?

If I do this set up, I want to do it right, so any advice you can give is very much appreciated!

I'm running this setup, but on a 2,8l CRD without regearing. It's all about torque But the difference from 33" to stock tires is small, i think you wouldn't even notice..

Hey fellow Chicagoan, well I'm actually in Forest Park. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm running 285/75's right now with a frankenlift that sucks, and am looking to go with OME. I was thinking the Light Duty springs to keep the lift down, less issues to worry about, but a much better ride and plenty of room to run 33's, and probably 35's down the road.

Which springs were you considering?

Are you sure you'll be content with 33's? I was originally going to go that route but after seeing a few rigs of guys I've been wheeling with with 35's I too went with the 35's. After going out wheeling with 35's I'm already thinking I should have went 37's.

My advice to you would be to spend a lot of time thinking on where you want your JK to be. If you buy enough lift for 33's and then decide you want to go bigger down the road guess what..... you'll have spent time and money doing a lift that doesn't fit your need anymore.

Wheel a bit stock and see what you can do before lifting and throwing bigger meats on your rig. I don't think people can really appreciate the difference a lift and better tires makes without learning the ins and outs of what a stock JK can handle.

Thanks for the advice. I gotta save up the cash before I do anything. I have a couple other mods I think I'd like to do before I ever change tires or lift. I'm thinking of just running my stock tires till they wear down.

My JK is my daily driver and my job can take me just to the corp. office or to California. I wasn't sure if I went too big, that my mileage/ride quality would suffer. I'm more of an overland guy anyhow, as of now.

I'm anxious to see some rigs/mods during these fall color runs!

WEALLR1: considering the Heavy Duty 2" set up. I'm still learning about it. Btw, I'm in Deerfield.

33'' will be liveable driving..
35" will be frustrating,,,you will want to regear

every day driving jeep.... 33' with 2inch lift would be sweet.. and you wont need to regear it

I've got a 2.5" budget lift and 33's. It's my dailer driver and still does awesome off road. I love the look of bigger tires, but the loss of power, having to regear isn't worth it to me.

You will have zero problems in fact if you want to do a road trip to Michigan I will install it for you.

I have been running the OME with 35's for one and a half years with zero problems.

If you get the LT's just understand there is a laundry list of extra parts you will need.

Default Looking at the same

Thinking to do the same=OME 2.5...but light vs heavy is my question? Have recently installed a RR XHD front bumper with a Promark 1000lb winch-minimal sag at this point but looking to change out the rear bumper as well.
Should I go with the light or heavy OME???
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
