Default Help my stock JK get unstocked!!

Okay, so I have a 07 JK X 6 speed hard top. I currently have 32" tires on it, and that is the only thing that has been done so far...I bought it used with the 32" tires on rubicon wheels. I love my jeep...I mostly take it out to the desert (live in San diego) and mountainous areas for camping and light to mid wheeling. I've done some rock trails, sand hills, hard-pack rutty roads. I always want to go a little harder, but I don't want to break anything and get stuck...usually by myself. I've already put a little smash on my rear corner panel and bumper and probably a few scratches...as I should be.

I want to upgrade some stuff, but am not sure what I should do first, next, next and next. I don't really want to go bigger than 33s, and I am not completely unsatisfied with the 32s (still have a decent amount of tread, and I don't drive it too often other than trips). I mostly just want something sturdier undernieth without sacrificing too much on the gas milage.

There seems to be so much stuff to buy for jeeps, and I am having trouble sifting through everything...nor do I know what I want/need. I mostly just don't want to break my stock stuff, because I'm not sure how rugged it is, or how long it will last.

Things I know:

Lift: 2" would be my max lift for now
Differential: I know I should want something better than what I have, but not sure what to get for my needs.
Shocks: Same as differential.

I don't have the money to throw into it to go BIG...I just want to make her more rugged.

Thank!

I went with the TF 2.5" coil kit. Love it! I have the same tires and wheels, and the lift made it alot more capable. Cant wait for bigger tires and all the control arms. U should PM me, maybe we can hook up and go out. A bunch of me and buddies are heading to Big Bear this coming up weekend. Its gonna be a blast.

as you explained your usage. i would suggest a winch, evap relocation kit, and oil pan skid.

Thanks...never even thought of relocating the evap. I do need to armor the underside for sure.

I'd look into the RC 3.25 lift. You could keep the spacers off and just run it as a pretty complete 2.5" coil lift. I've heard of a few people doing this. PM one of the RC reps on here and they will give you a discount as well. PS never say never on the 35s. I said never and now the tread on my tires can't go fast enough! (and if/when you do go up to 35s you could put in the spacers and have enough lift for them!)

I wouldn't go higher than 2.5. I plan on getting the ome long travel when $ permits. I run a tera level kit now with 35's spidertrax spacers and stock wheels and it pwrfoms great!!! No rubbing.
U want the smallest lift with biggest tires and no rubbing.
My rubi drives almost exactly the same as with factory tires. I have 4.10 in the axles.
I would be less concerned about height and more concerned with having a complete kit.
The ome kit Northridge sells will be complete.
Hope this helps u.

Yes those are 35's... they look small in the pic.

first of all welcome to the forum, and i bet Ill see you out on the trails sometime soon.

As for your mods, i would say do stuff to make room for honkin tires, but if you dont want those, I'm stumped, kuz thats what Ive been working on for my rig.

Put a CB in your rig, cheap and easy to do

35" tires are very moderate sized tires and nothing to be afraid of. Personally, I think the look stock on an unlimited which is why I'm going with 37s or 38s with mimimal lift. Don't cheap out on the lift. The key is to keep your geometry as close to factory as possible so if you are lifting, control arms are a must or you will wander all over the place.

CB radio- a must-(cheap mod)
LIFT-2" (cheap mod)
TIRES -35" (not cheap)
FENDER TRIM (free mod)

These would be the first mods i would do.35,s with a 2" lift and fender trim will give you enough clearance to go most places.
I would then concentrate on bumpers and rails
