Rock ring/rim protector for DC-2 wheel

Hey all, just lookin for ideas on adding rim protectors or rock rings to my DC-2 wheels. Should they be bolted or welded on? Would I be better off putting on beadlocks?

If anyone has pictures of the DC-2 or similar wheels with rock rings or beadlocks on them please post up, I would really like to see how they look.
