Body lift Vs. Suspension Lift
I own a 2010 jeep rubicon 4dr. ok I have been looking at lift kits for a month and have no idea what im looking for. ive read countless posts and i dont understand anything lol. can some one tell me in plan language what i should get and the best quality.
I drive on the road alot.
I go mudding and want to go rock climbing but more mudding i do moderatly difficult corses only been stuck once but i want to challenge my jeep more without damaging it.
i want like a 2.5-4" lift maybe 4 is too high so hoping for a legit 3".
i have stock everything i might get bigger tires in future but i think the stock mudd tires are sufficient.
pls some one tell me brand and everythign that i should get with it. also if body is better or Suspension.
Thank you to all who respond

so you know, a body lift is just that - a set of spacer installed between your frame and body to lift it up higher. this is a very cheap way to get more clearance for your tires but, it will do nothing to your ride or your jeeps abilities on the trail. a suspension lift will require you to install taller springs or at the every least, spacers on top of them. depending on how high you go, a lot more componets will be needed to help address the geometry of your suspension components. in other words, this can get pricey but, it will also help your jeep's ability on the trail.
for your purposes, you can do a little of both. you can install a 2.5" coil spacer lift and a 1" body lift and that'll give you enough clearance to install 35" tires. this is a cheap and effective way to get you where you want to be.

regarding a body lift, no, i'm not necessarily recommending it, i just suggested it as a cheap way to get more clearance under your fenders. if you can afford to get a better suspension lift, that would be the way to go.
