Default Rugged Ridge Winch

Anyone using the rugged ridge 8,500 lb winch for $299 ??? Any opinions on it? I do light off roading to look for that secluded campsite or fishing hole. But I explore on my own and I'd like to have something to pull me out if the trail gets to rough. I feel I have turned around to many times and missed out on some great locations for fear of getting stuck.

From what I understand the Rugged Ridge winches are just rebadged Smittybilt winches. While 300 bux might seem like a steal I would rather spend a little more on a winch that I know will work when I need it to get me out of a hairy situation. I'd save my pennies a little longer and go with a Warn M8000.

I've got the 10500lb on order for the same reason. I hope it's a good unit lol.

I just got one with the synthetic rope. I am pleased with it so far. Some magazine did a comparison and the Smitty came in second place I think. RR is a rebadged Smitty.

no issues with my smittybilt...yet. I've used it quite a few times and put some serious strain on it.
