Can someone with better search abilities please point me to these posts? I'm sure they are here. I'm thinking for the cost difference I might be happy with a winch mounted down in the stock bumper.

I mounted my Warn 8274-50 using a Warn mounting plate specifically designed for the stock JK bumper. I'm very happy with it.

Here in this thread front bumper <-- click abock33 shows many ways to have a winch mounted to stock bumper.
I chose the Rough Country plate and I am happy with it

 

I just got a piece of scrap metal and made my own plate and mounted it in the stock bumper.. total cost.. maybe 20 bucks for grade 8 bolts and nuts
