Default Welding washers on axle side track bar bracket hole to fix wallowing/ovaling?

My Track bar axle side hole is wallowed slightly front and rear. I am going to fix the front by using JKS's front track bar bracket brace and was advised by planman in another thread to weld washer on rear. I have question to those who have done this or know someone who has done this or just know.

Can u still use the flagged nut on the rear side when u weld a washer on or do you have to switch to a regular nut? I was thinking that the current flagged nut might not work with a welded washer between it and the bracket. Thanks.

The flange nut will work still fine.

My suggestion is if you are going to be welding on the rear brace you mine as well throw the JKS rear trac bar brace on it... the rear one is only 40 bucks and will fix your current issue with the wallowed hole and beef up the brace.... only my opinion....

The front brack is really expensive for some reason..... but if you will be welding on both i'd throw them on.

My post must be confusing, my rear track bar is fine. I am talking about the front stock bracket only and talking about welding on a washer on the back-side of the bracket to fix that side and use the JKS front brace to fix the front hole. Teh JKS brace will not adress the rear hole on the front bracket only the front hole on the front bracket.

So my origal question rephrased is can u use the flag nut directly over the welded washer on the rear of the front track bar bracket?

I already welded on the rear JKS brace a couple of weeks ago.

I wouldn't understand why you couldn't use it. Welding a washer to the trackbar wont change the functionality of the bolt or the nut. I am not looking at it at the moment, but there is plent of room isn't there? Should be fine unless I am missing something?

I guess I wasnt sure how that flagged nut was going to sit with a washer welded underneath it. Again, I am talking about the rear hole on the front track bar bracket. There isnt much room back there as well. Just wanted to see how people who have done it did it. The front hole should be taken care of with the JKS brace that I am going to install.

I took a closer look at it and think this will work fine. What size washer should I get for stock size bolt? How tight should it be?

I welded a washer on rear hole on the front axle track bar mount last night. It's a tight spot, but doable. Just grind down the welds so the washer surface was flush to allow the nut to sit cleanly.

The mounting holes are elongated on the passenger side of my 2012 4dr also. Is this the only fix for this problem? My only suspension mod is the AEV 2" spacer lift.

You need to get rid of that oem bolt, by going to Osh Hardware and buying grd8 bolt, nut and washers. I just use a vise grip to hold the nut in place. That factory bolt is threaded all the way and is undersize from the factory. It's been so long, but think it was a 9/16 X 2" 1/2 long
