front or rear? either way, it's not too hard to do assuming your front shaft is pre-assembled and the rears have bearing pressed on. up front, you will need a big 36mm socket, 12 pt 13mm wrench and a 21mm for the job and in the rear, you will need an 18mm wrench.

There have been a few threads that talk about swapping out your gears. I think I rememeber in some of those they addressed how to remove the axle shafts. Sorry, but I don't recall the names of the threads. Here is a pic of TJ axles that have the bearings pressed on already..that will give you and idea of what your going to have to do unless they are already assembled..

yes - if you shafts did not come with the bearing already pressed on, you will need to do this or have it done at a shop with a press. otherwise, swapping out rears is super simple - pull wheel, remove brake drum, disconnect e-brake, remove esp sensor, remove brake caliper and 4 bolts securing shaft to housing. then, reverse.

Keep in Mind that the picture above is not a JK those are TJ shafts.

Also if you order Shafts from us they come pre assembled with new ABS tone rings, New Backing Plates , Seals and Bearings . So they are ready to slide in .
