Default Yes, it's another lift question

I had posted a lift question a few weeks ago and I think I have my mind fairly set. But being new to a 4x4 and lifts and everything I have questions. I'm looking to go with a
2.5" lift but after reading around on other people's lift questions, there is a lot of discussion on control arms (I beleive). A stupid newb question, I'm in a steep learning curve-what are control arms responsible for? And why the need for new ones/relocations?

I was maybe looking into the teraflex coil kit and so would I need to do more than just the parts in the kit, or order more? I do also beleive I would need wheel spacers because I'm running the stock rubi rim with 255's. And opinions on going with the new shocks, shock adaptors, or keep stock shocks?

I am not looking to run anything bigger than 35's. Something bigger than my 32's, yes, but not much. Just want more off-road clearance. Eventually I would like to put a bumper/winch but that's a while down the road.

Alright, sorry thats a lot of questions for one post!

On the control arms thought.

With the TeraFlex 2.5" Coil Lift with Shocks, you should get adjustable trackbars to re-center the axles.

Yes, you will need wheel spacers putting on a aftermarket suspension kit.

TeraFlex kits are developed per our needs

The coil lifts are for people wanting to run aftermarket bumpers, armors, winches and people that don't want sag. The sag occurs after a while running your stock springs.

Shock adapters is just a cheap way of not buying new shocks.

Going with new shocks will give your jeep a different feel and allow for more articulation. Which the same applies for the coil lift as opposed to getting/running the budget boost.

If you choose a 2.5" suspension lift, it should include, new springs, new shocks, rear track bar re-location bracket and a new adjustable front track bar. Some kits even include brackets for the brake lines.
Teraflex makes good quality kits and I don't think you'd be disappointed. Old Man Emu is another great manufacturer. Both work well, and provide a good amount of axle articulation. I would get HD springs if you plan on replacement bumpers/winch.
With only 2.5" of lift, run it for awhile then decide if you need/want to replace the control arms.
Good luck with the project

I've been running the TF lift in my signature for about 6 months. Its everything I wanted in a lift and installed easily.

You can also see that I did the LCAs and a trac bar as well.

I'd buy the same lift again.

Before I even bought the Jeep I was thinking I would just go BB and call it a day. But now I want a little bit more-hence the 2.5 coil lift. I'm planning on selling the car I had before the Jeep so it will free me up a little money so I can go more than a BB.

The kit I'm looking at has:
Front and Rear Coil Springs
Front and Rear Bump Stops
Rear Brake Line Brackets
Rear Sway Bar Links
Rear Track Bar Bracket
Front and Rear Shocks

And as Pluke put it the TF is per the Jeeps needs. So I'm hoping this kit is complete with all necessary parts and I wont need to purchase too much extra, except the wheel spacers? I hope a 2.5" isisn't overkill since I don't have a winch/bumper. And surprisingly the difficulty of installation is easy. That's what the rocker guards say too. ?

And once last thing--I shouldn't have any problems with driveshaft since this would be under a 3" lift?

Thanks for the information!

From what i understand, you shouldnt have to worry about the drive shaft, with anything less than a 4 inch. I have a 3.5 and ran stock tires and wheel spacers for a while. it didnt look too bad, you'll be fine... jeeps are always work in progresses, so you add on as you get the funds. Installation for the lift is somewhat easy, but the biggest thing that i can stress is make sure you torque everthing to factory specs, especially the track bar! oh, another thing, since your probably doing all that, get a set of sway bar disconnects. a little extra cheddar, but well worth it when you get on the trail and start flexing.

I am running a 3.25" lift. I do not have adjustable control arms at all. I am running all stock
I have not needed them. I decided to wait until I needed them. haven't needed them yet. And I actually off road.
