Default Stock drive shaft caused trans leak

Has this happened to anyone? I have a light trans oil leak at the pan due to what looks like the stock front drive shaft coming in contact with the lip of the pan. I see a sort of "crushed" area on the pan where it seems to be leaking now. Probably happened at full flex and it rubbed or hit it somehow. I since replaced the shaft with a Tom Woods and clearance is much improved. It's at the dealer now but won't be warranted because it was "off-roaded". They made no mention of my mods though.

sure, this happens to a lot of people. when lifting a JK 3" or more, the stock drive shaft will come into contact with the lip of the auto tranny sump pan. typically, this caused the plastic boot on the shaft to tear off but, after repeated hits, it can cause the pan to peel a way just a bit and cause a leak. an after market shaft has a narrower diameter and it is really your only fix.
