Chrome Pro Comp wheels, can they last thru a Michigan winter?
18 x 9.5 procomp wheels with 35" tires I see alot of chromed aluminum wheels pitting and pealing in 1 to 2 years due to the salt.
I need a 35" spare anyway and was considering going with an aluminum powdercoated set of 4 wheels with tires for the winter, this way i can use a wheel from what ever set is removed as the spare.
What wheel finish will hold up best?

Can't help much with the chrome question, as I have the all black Pro Comps. Looks like you live right around the conner from me, I'm on the west side of West Bloomfield. Just put my 35s and wheels on two months ago. Best prices I've found around town was the Tire Discount on Haggarty just south of Pontaic Trail. If your going with new rubber I would suggest the Good Year MTRs, nice quiet tire. Hope you get the answer to your question, I just thought I would trough in my 2 cents on where to buy.

im now looking at bumpers and other add ons.
I have not shopped the store but have checked out pricing on Discont tire direct, 4 wheel parts with there online sales seem the best for bolt ons.
Thanks Tom
My pro comp knight chrome wheels started peeling and flaking after 2 yrs of winter here in maryland. i dont have pics right now but will get them for you. all the rinsing and washing in the winter didnt help. from now on im sticking with black...
I live in Illinois and run aluminum Micky Thompson wheels year round. I found the perfect way to protect them through all the salt and slush of our winter. WD40!
The first season I tried a wheel wax but found out after about a month of snow and salt they were showing some pitting. I spent some time and cleaned them up and thought I would just try WD40 to see how it did. After another month I went to the car wash to spray them off and found out the WD40 did the job and the wheels looked great. I'm hooked on the stuff now. Right before the snow falls I spray them down, after the streets dry and the snow and slush is gone I spray them off. Try it you'll be happy with the results.

Hey Storch, yes I have seen you around. I run a all black JK 4 door with all of the bageing removed, blacked out windows, black wheels with 35s, (murdered out) a Rugged Ridge front bumber, soft top and cargo netting, getting ready to put the hard top back on.
There are a few guys trying to put a Jeep club together in the area, I'll let you know if it happens. Maybe we can hook up for a beer some night, and swap Jeep ideas.
