Question Which octane tune do you run?

I am curious to see what the majority of Superchip users out there run. I personally just installed the 87 tune but run it on 91 octane in case pinging would ever be a issue.

Also is there a big enough difference in performance to run the 93 octane tune?

thanks!!

I've only run the 87 to date. No pinging issue. Love the throttle response vs. stock. Every time I return to stock for the dealer, I'm thanking myself for getting the chip.
It does seem to take 2 tanks or 3 to settle in on optimum fuel consumption after being reprogrammed to 87 tune.

I just had to return my Rubi to stock......man do I love the chip. I didn't realize how much better it drives with the tune. I Have run 87 and 91. I like 91 the best, but I run 93 octane fuel in it. It just seem to get a better combination of power and fuel improvements with the 91 tune

I run the 87 octane tune and switch to 93 octane and towing tune when I pull my trailer. I ran 93 performance tune for a while and liked it but.....cha-ching $$$!!!

Tried 91 for about 3 weeks and didn't notice a difference so went back to 87.

can someone tell why so many people run the "tow tune" for their daily driving? is that better then the 87 tune?

I am running the towing tune now and run 87 with no problems. I also dont run my jeep to redline ever but it runs much better on the highway. I pull a small 6x10 utility trailor a lot with moving and redoing my new house and it runs great. Plus I dont have to spend the money on 93. I ran the 93 tune with 93 gas and the tow tune with 93 gas and then tried the tow with 87 and it runs the same as with 93 gas and I dont hear any ping.

hell the way I look at it is I have a Mustang Cobra that makes close to 600hp at the motor and it runs on 93 so I think my 200hp jeep can run on 87. lol

87 tune here. haven't tried any other tunes. I've been happy with the improvement over stock. no need to try the others. plus the price difference between regular and supreme is too much for me. I can't see the possible improvement being worth the price difference.
