Thumbs up Show your rear armor

Post up pics of the rear armor skins on the JK. Which ones have the best fit? I've been through enough tail lights and license brackets that it might be time for a change here soon.

Post up the pics.

I put Warrior Rear Corners on recently, together with their LED light kit. Gets rid of the bulky stock taillight cluster, cost is very reasonable, but took more time than first expected. My license plate is zip-tied on for now, till I get and mount it on a tire carrier.

These corners are a very good fit around the JK body and riveted on, so with holes drilled (and the cutting below) they're a permanent fixture. More work than I expected (I figured similar to you) but glad they're on and the overhanging stock taillights are gone.

The lower part of this picture shows the amount of sheetmetal bodywork I chopped out with a sawzall and angle grinder to make space for the LED lights to sit flush and press into the corners, the cuts are'nt pretty but didnt need to be !!

Warrior install instructions are basic, so wiring and adding resistors to slow down the blinkers was trial and error - I can post the wiring specifics for others that get these.

so did you have to cut any on the side of the fenders or you just rivet them in? and the only cutting was to run the tail lights am i getting that right? and how did it make you feel to cut away at your jeep that's the part that i don't know if i can get over yet...

Break out the power tools There is no cutting on the sides. Only cuts to body are extending and opening the tailight hole for the 6" light, and making a new 3" hole for the reverse light, as in the photo.

The JK body's tail area is double skinned, so cut through the red body skin and through the inner primer gray metalwork.

Rivets are included, so drill a couple of holes on the side and rivet the corners in place to finish the job.

For the overkill corners, how was the install? Does it just use nutserts or however you spell em? Any cutting to the body? Are you happy about retaining the stock taillights?

Do they make these smooth rather than diamond plate? And do you have any pictures looking down from above? Is there a gap between the armor and the body? I can't really tell from the other pics.

Anybody get the poison spyder skins? Or ORE? Are there more kinds that incorporate LED tails that I'm missing?
