Default My turn to build a fold-out camping tailgate table

Hi guys...welp, I have finished up a cool little project that I think you guys will like. Several months ago I noticed a picture on the folding EVO tailgate table. I thought it was really cool and thought I would like to build one. I got to looking around the net and ran across a really cool pic of another design that I loved. It has two shelves and folds up into about 20x17x1.5 square when done. My son called it a transformer..lol. I didn't take pics of the build but here is the finished project. I made my templated out of the foam poster board first to work out the details of it folding.

Here is the table Tramsformer (my kid named it):

And her is a pic of it in its closed/folded position:

Here is a close-up of the pins I installed for the bottom shelf to rest on. This will keep the wall supports from opening on accident:

I will get some pics of it installed later this afternoon. I added 9 pics. Let me know if you can't see them for some reason.

Wow that sweet. I'm gonna steal your design at some point. Remember that imitation is the highest form of flattery lol.

I can't take credit for coming up with that design. It belongs to RSE. I will see if I can find the drawing I used to look at while I made it. I'm gonna post a few more pics in a little bit of it mounted. I also added a way to hold the lid shut and reduce the rattling the the "wings" inside.

It barely takes up any space at! It's only about an inch wide right? And I am sure that will come in handy much more than just camping too.

You have some mad skills buddy! I really like following all of your projects, you make it seem so easy. There really is no reason why you could not start manufacturing these items, you do great work and you obviously enjoy doing it. Great job!!
