Rear swaybar disconnects needed?
I'm planning on getting some JKS disconnects for the front swaybar, and was wondering if I need them for the rear as well, or if I should just get extended links (never upgraded them after my lift).
unlike the front sway bar which is really thick and offers a lot of resistance, the rear sway bar is very thin and can be manipulated by hand. in other words, it will not prevent you from achieving maximum flex and if anything, will provide better stability by leaving it connected. needless to say, you DO NOT want to disconnect your rear links.
It's decided then.
I'v noticed two different "styles" of swaybar links. One is just a bar with brushing, like the OEM links but longer. The 2nd I'v seen made by Currie and Northridge 4x4.

Is one of these designs superior? Is one noisier or better off road? The ones by Currie look like they are made with a metal ball joint instead of a rubber brushing.

Same here, already decided on the JKS Quick Disconnects for the front (the cheap extended ones I got last year from Zone are not working out). But the rear I'm not sure about, and I don't want them to be to long for my OME lift.
The links with the rod ends wear out faster then the rubber bushing ones. my fronts with rodends I had on for around 2300 miles and I pulled them the other day and they were really loose so I just installed my factory rears on the front. could have just been poor quality.

I have JKS on the front(the kind where the entire link is removed with 4 pins) and extended fixed links on the rear. My set up works very well. The reason I like the front links that are completely removed is if my jeep gets muddy all I need to wipe off is the studs that the links slide on to......my links are clean and ready to go.
