Any way to use 16.5 tires
I really want to use 16.5 inch rim tires in my jk. Why? Cause I can buy practically new 37's for $100/pc.
I need help figuring out how to accomplish this. Any help appreciated.

your biggest problem will be getting a wheel that has a 5x5 bolt pattern but, if you can't find one, i'm sure you can just get a set of wheel adapters to change what you have to fit.
You guys have to realize he thinks he has stumbled upon the one avenue of cheap tires NONE of the rest of us has...
Used Military HumVee Goodyears.
Go ahead and mount them bitches, and call me from the chiropractic office when you realize what a F-up that was.
I know a guy by me running them on a 1 ton Dodge, and it is eating ball joints to the tune of 10-12ooo miles.
They are hard as rocks. Yes they are cheap. No they are not a deal.

Yes they are stiff, but run at a reasonable pressure for the weight of your vehicle they are not as bad as they seem. I have run them on several vehicles previously and will get them on my jk (when money allows). The key is to not overinflate them. With those tires you really only need about 20-22psi on a 2dr and 25psi on a 4 door. As for your friend, I highly doubt the tires are the sole cause of ball joint failure. More likley the whole tire / wheel weight (yes they are much heavier than even his stock one ton gear) bad alignment, bad suspension angles, etc. I am willing to bet he would have the same BJ issues running an aluminum wheel and any other 37 out on the market.
EDIT: I know where your coming from, but have never seen one come off when at over 15 psi. Now below that whithout beadlocks your on your own, The sidewalls are stiff enough it just might pull off the bead where others wouldnt, but thats why you run the beadlock.

That depends. Not many places you can get 5 wheels and 5 37" tires for less than a thousand bucks (and that is the recentered wheels). I think it is a great deal for what you are getting. And after the intitial investment on the wheels, you can get military tires for $100 each, and depending on who you go thru there are more options than just the Wrangler OZ.
