Default Your opinions on these 2.5" lift kits???

I'm just looking for your opinion on these 2.5" lift kits. I know a lot of you will say go with a 3" lift. The reason why I am looking at the 2.5" kits is mostly do to money, or lack of it. I don't have the money to drop on a good 3" kit, 35" tires/wheels and new gears. And after analyzing the type of wheeling I do, a 2.5" is more than adequate [blasphemy, I know]. Now, if i lived near Moab or Rubicon, a 3" kit wouldn't even be a thought.

Is the kit worth the price for the parts that come in it?

Quality of the parts in the kit?

How did the springs change the ride, positive or negative?

Would you recommend the kit?

I would go with the 2.5 TeraFlex and definitely call David at Northridge 4x4. He will hook you up with a great deal.

Default My vote

I didn't see OME on your list but having run this lift for about 1,500 miles it takes my vote. It's an advertised 2'' lift however you will get closer to 3'' and quality ride. Get the kit from Northridge that includes adj track bars. Otherwise i hear good things about Teraflex

If you have plans in the future to upgrade, I would say go with the Rock Krawler. That way you can upgrade as $ allows....

I vote OME. I @ about 20K on mine, no sagging, netted 3.5" lift on HD coils, and awesome ride !!

ditto on the Northridge kit.

Not to hijack the thread, but hopefully this will also interest the op. If the OME gives close to 3.5" lift, does it not cause driveshaft angle issues?

I have 45,000 miles on the TF 2.5 coil life. Which gives you a good 3 inches of lift. I have a rubi unlimted. I stayed with the stock shocks and did the extentions as I was told the rubi shock are great. So far not one problem...
Oh and the wheel spacers as I'm still running the stock size tires and rims..

OME makes 5 different coils for the JK, and all are probably sold in the box that says 2". The above posts are referring only to the HD version, which are known to give 3-4". You can dig up posts on this site saying that the TF 2.5" coils give 3-4" of lift also. Just depends.

There are a lot of variables involved in the issues with driveshafts. It is better to get an idea of the entire setup, rather than make a blanket statement that anyone will need shafts at xxx height...
