Default Teraflex BB install help

OK, I'm looking at the instructions for the Teraflex 2.5" BB install and I'm a bit confused. The instructions say that I need to drill a 3/8" hole in the factory rear drop bar bracket. But it also says a new bracket is included with the kit (which I did get in the box).

So do I still need to drill the factory bracket and use the supplied bracket? Or do I just use the new bracket instead of the factory bracket? Or what? I just want to make sure I have everything on hand before I get into this. Thanks in advance!

You need to use the template and drill the hole on the frame bracket so the new bracket will mount to it. It was pretty easy to do...just make sure you use the template. If you don't have it you can print it out on their website.

OK, that makes sense. I wasn't sure since the instructions just say "bracket" for both. I was going to do the lift yesterday but didn't have a suitable bit. Now I'm off to Augusta, GA and will knock out the install on Monday, hopefully. Thanks for the info!

I installed the same lift on my 08. We ended up just using the measurements. It helped to have a punch to mark it then used a smaller bit first. A drop of hinge oil helps also. I called TF 3X that day...got to know them by name. They are very helpful. Keep in mind when you finish the track bar..have your buddy push on the side of the Jeep while you slide in the bolt. Took us a whileClick image for larger version

I used a ratchet strap to pull it over to get the bolt in...worked great.
