If there are snow and ice in your equation, I would call it a no brainer. Go with the Duratracs! I have found BFGs almost dangerous on ice and hard packed snow on previous cars. With Duratracs; this is a totally different story. They are also amazingly quiet on the road and the wear is very good. I will stick to the Duratracs for my next set of tires.
This question has been asked countless times. Each time the clear and decisive winner has always been the Duratrac. There really is no comparison. Looks, performance, ice+snow rated, off road ability all go to the duratrac. Heck, I have them on my own Jeep!
Countless members here all run the GY's and I can't think of more than one or two JK'ers that run the BFG's...

BFG A/T's are a nice looking tire and they hold their own off road but from my own experience they are down right scary on wet roads and arent the greatest when it comes to ice and snow. I can't comment about the Duratracs in Ice and snow yet because this will be my first winter running them but they are excellent on wet/rain soaked roads and they do quite well on the trails and in mud.

I have BFG AT tires and I like them. They are pretty quiet on the road and are good in the rain. Time will tell how they are in the snow.. When I get bigger tires I think I may go the Duratrac route. They seem to be the overall tire of choice
I run the BFG and I will buy them again. Im not sure what all of the "scary" talk is all about. I have driven on them in some really crappy conditions with no problems. Deep snow, sleet, rain, ice they drive fine. They arent loud at all, balance easy. Its just a good tire. They wear like steel. No problems would buy BFG over any set of GY in a heart beat.
BFG are great tires and Im sure the Duratracs are as well. Get what you want. You will be happy either way.
