Default Wich one 5.18 or 4.88

Sorry i have this question, is a jeep sahara 2 doors 2007 with 34" tires, sotck wheels with dana 30 front axel and dana 44 rear axel and i want to change my gears is it ok if i buy 5.18 for the front and 5.18 for the rear, or i would be better 4.88 on the front and 5.13 on the rear?

The front and rear have to match, either 4.88 both front & rear or 5.13 both front and rear. Choosing gears depends on whether you drive a manual 6sp or auto.

4:88's - Front & rear for 6spd
5:13's - front & rear for Auto

I helped a buddy install gears from Superior and they looked like good strong gears and the install kit had all the things we need except for spacers to get the preload correct. We had to get spacers to get backlash and preload set from a dealer.

I changed to 4:88 on a 2009 "X" with manual tranny and 35's. It worked great and other than the obvious mileage drop, I never had an issue with it.

Spacers is what is used to move the carrier left and right in the housing to get the gears set correctly for the proper mesh.

You might want to take it to a shop and have this done. If it isn't setup correctly it won't last long or it will make noise on the road.
