Default Ordered new Nitto Trail Grappler tires, help with wheel purchase

Hi All, i've had great feedback on past posts about wheels, tires and lifts. Based on your feedback i ordered the following tires for my new 2011 Sahara Unlimited with a 4" lift.

Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 35X12.50R17E2 121Q B.

A cross between a mud tire and an all terrain tire. Reviews have been positive. Low road noise, aggressive looks, good in the boston snow, good off-road performance.

Now that my tires are on order i have a few questions regarding wheels. I did read the FAQ but want confirmation based on my rig specs
  • I want the tire to stick out 1 to 1 1/2" beyond the sahara fender. Would 4" backspace work? Pro's cons?
  • On quadratec.com i keep seeing the term 5x5 bolt pattern. I understand there are five bolt holes.. but what's with 5x5? I believe new jeeps like my sahara require a 5x5 bolt pattern. Correct?
  • I'm supposed to choose between 8-10" rim width. Pros cons?
  • Some wheel sites state numbers such as -11mm or -6mm offset. What does this mean?

Again, thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
Thanks
John

Just curious as to how you have your tires on order, but are asking what size wheel you should go with. You need to go back to the beginning and make sure you purchase tires and wheels that match. Just a suggestion.....

What size tire did you order? Could you tell me exactly what will be the size on the sidewall of the tire?

I have a 2010 Rubicon and am running 35x12.50. I have 4.5 backspacing as suggested by the lift and wheel mfg's. The tires stick out about 1.5 beyond the stock Rubicon fenders. The wheels are 9 inch wide as that was what they had.
5x5 is a 5 bolt pattern on a 5 inch bolt circle.

Sounds like a 17 inch rim with 4.5 backspacing and 8-9 inchs wide will do the trick.

Check out the chart on this website. This explains the -11, -12.etc. It's offset or backspacing of the wheel.

Thanks gang. I appreciate all the fine advice.

The more i read the more confusing it is (for me) to determine how far out a tire will stick beyond the fender with a 12.5 tire and 4.5 backspace. Some on this forum say it sticks out about 1/2", others (in this thread) state 1 1/2". I suppose it matters if you pick an 8" wheel vs a 9" wheel right?

Thanks again!
John
