Default Question about Pitman Arm Drop and Lift

I am trying to figure this out

I have a 3" lift from Fabtech... I bought from a guy in the forum, however it did not include track bar brackets or the dropped pitman arm....

Now here is the question----
One------ will I need the track bar relocation brackets...
Two--- If I need them do I need the pitman arm drop
Three---- Could I get the rear trackbar bracket, and
a front adjustable trackbar without getting
the pitman arm drop.
What is the easiest and cheapest way?

Mind you i am trying to figure out the most economical way to do this without forking over another 400-500 dollars.

I apologize in advance for the thread detour, but can you explain this a bit more:

Why lowers in the front and uppers in the rear? I'm not doubting the accuracy of the info, just looking for education.

Thanks.

I would say if you don't drop the frame side of the tracbar the you wouldn't need the pitman arm, as long as the tracbar and drag link angles look close you'll be ok.

Not to take away from the OP's thread, but I will answer your question.

The lowers in the front are used to adjust caster. Uppers could be used, but most adj control arms don't adjust shorter than stock control arms. Thus, the caster adjustment will be limited by how short you can make the upper arms. If the lowers are used, you have a greater range of adjustment to fix the caster angle and you will gain back some of the wheelbase you lost when the Jeep was lifted.

As for the rear uppers, it's the same scenario in reverse. Uppers are adjusted longer than stock to rotate the pinion up toward the tcase, correcting the pinion angle. If rear lowers were used, they would have to be adjusted shorter than stock control arms to roll the pinion upward. If this were done it would pull the rear tires even closer to the front of the wheel well. Rear lower adj control arms are typically used to gain back wheelbase after a lift and in conjunction with rear uppers.

Generally, if you are under 4" of actual lift, front lowers and rear uppers are fine. If over 4", you will want all 8 arms to regain your wheelbase, adjust caster and correct the rear pinion angle.
