Default Smittybilt XRC Winch cover, need guidance

I just got my winch cover for my smittybilt xrc winch and I am having trouble putting it on. My plan is to use 2 bungee cords to keep in on. Anyone else have anyother advice on how to keep the cover on. Oh ya, I have a rugged ridge winch mount bumper, not sure if that helps or not.

Thanks
Chris

I have the XRC 10k model. The stock cover fits just fine. There should be a flat string/rope at each end, with a take-up clasp on the back side of the cover. Extend the rope all the way out at both ends; slip the rope under the "motor" side of the winch first; then slide the other end under the "clutch" end.

Get the folds out of the cover and get the cover straight. Then tighten up the ropes using the take-up clasps (this is a little bit of a hassle, as my hands are big, but it is doable).

Hope this helps.

pretty much..just be prepared for fading.. my cover is a nice shade of gray now, took about a month in the New Orleans heat.

got one from 4wd on a promo when buying the xrc winch. Tried installing it once, and couldn't get it to fit right. Threw it in the back of the jeep and hasn't seen daylight since. JUNK!!!!

Thanks guys for your help. I ended up using bungee cords and it sees to be working. I am not a fan of the cover, but with the winters in maine and the salt on the roads, I wanted to protect it.

I rethreaded mine so the clasps were in front instead of back. Made things a lot easier to tighten since the gap between the winch & grill was almost nonexistent.
