Default Rock Krawler 2.5 Stock Mod Lift Kit

Does anyone use the Rock Krawler 2.5" stock mod kit? I plan on using this kit with teraflex shock extension, it's listed at $399.00 from 4WD Parts, with a 1" Rough Country Body lift. I have a 2008 4Dr Rubicon Unlimited Auto and want to avoid driveshaft problems. I want something simple, mostly on-road driving but want to go off-road when the urge hits me. I also plan on getting 35's (35x12.5x17 MT MTZ's or Nitto Mud Grapplers with 17" Mickey Thompson Sidebiters). I will not be running a winch or heavy bumper. Also is that kit available cheaper anywhere else?

I got the RC stock mod on my 2 door. It is a good lift, but I had to get the RC adjustable lower control arms, to get my Caster set correctly. RC said that they never had to do that in the past with the stock mod kit. Maybe I'm special, but it works great now and I like it. I also put a set of Bilstein all around and am running 33's but there is plenty rm for 35's.

Coils, Front adj trackbar, rear bracket. Just the basics. No links, no caster correction, no bumpstops.

I don't recall seeing the actual ift height from those coils. Would a bit over 3" be accurate? With shock extensions, you won't have a ton of travel, which is good for keeping the stock front driveshaft in good shape. But, you have a rubicon. Will you be disconnecting? This lets the axle drop a few more inches, which brings the shaft closer to the tranny. That kit also has an adj front track bar, so I'm assuming your front axle will be centered? That is a negative for an auto. Having the axle offset to the driver side would be a good thing, as it keeps the shaft further from the tranny.

with a 1" Rough Country Body lift
RC makes a 1" BL for the JK ??

Guys

Offsetting the axle can be very tricky. If you are reusing and stock components the axle will be cocked in the vehicle and cause the entire rig to dog track down the road. It is certainly not for the average installer to run the front axle off center, even with a full set of adjustable control arms because each arm is set to a unique length to so the axle is square!

Just food for thought...

RK, can you expand on this a little? I have the same kit on order with Bilstein 5100's. Am I going to have the "dog track" issue you mentioned? This is going on a currently-stock 2011 Rubi Unlimited.

Thanks,
Jared

Sir

If you got our system with the adjustable front track bar, you do not have to worry about it!

The person in the prior post mentioned side shifting the front axle and we certainly want everyone to understand what needs to be done in order for that to be done properly!
