Default People who have 35's mounted on stock spare tire carrier

how is it holding up??? The owners manual says it can only support 50lbs.

its doing fine. but I did crease the tailgate backing up, the tire hit rocks/dirt pile and creased it..

not sure if its from the extra wieght of the tire or is just the pop can metal.

im gonna go spareless until i order a carrier.

83lb wheel plus a 25ish lb rim seems a bit much to be hanging on the gate for my liking.

ya, I dunno what to do, I got a full size spare, but dont want it to rip off driving down the highway.. or bounce off wheeling somewhere... I know alot of guys have them mounted though.

im pushing 10,000 miles with it mounted that way. it has bounced off yet

I have been running around with my stock spare for too long. I'm going wheelin with the CMF's tomorrow. They have been giving me crap for it so I broke down and bought my 35" spare today. I am still waiting for my rear bumper with the tire carrier. 5olbs huh? I'll be way over that.

I haven't had any problems yet with the 35. I am worried that I will drag it trying to climb a steep ledge and damage the tailgate though. Fortunately the factory towhook is taking most of it...
