Default wooden steering wheel

Hy Jeep comunity,

I would like to say hello from Tirol / Austria / Europe, where Soft Top Wranglers like mine are very ununsual. Over the cold wintertime I want to pimp up my Jeep with some wooden parts. I would like to start with a nice old fashioned wooden steering wheel. Does anyone know, where I cold get one, that fits on a 2010 model. As next I plan to make continouous wooden armrests on the nice half doors and wooden top of the middle box between the seats.

Did anyone work with wooden apliations out- and inside at a wrangler ?

I am curious if there are some guys here, who woud share the passion for wood on cars.

hang loose,

Bernhard

Wood, lovely though it is,makes splinters in an impact-how will that work with airbags? All that (soft) plastic replaced by splintery wood, ouch! Would look gorgeous, though...

Grant is the leading manufacturer of automotive steering wheels. They have about 50 wooden style wheels to choose from.

Hi there! I also like wood (not in the Wrangler though), is very warm and elegant.
You may want to check with Nardi (a staple for classic wooden steering wheels) if they have a boss which matches the Chrysler/Jeep one (or you could have one made). Their site is nardi-personal (both companies are together). I fear they don't have any airbags though.
Another option is to adapt a steering wheel from another vehicle which is airbag compliant. I've seen wooden steering wheels in some Alfas (156 and 164/166).

For interior accents Mopar has some options (I just post an example):

For the armests and top of the cubby I fear there is nothing available, but you could fab your own.
