Default How much coverage from Bushwacker Fender Flares (if any)

Hi all,

I have 33"x12.5 tires and local (Dutch) law requires the tires to be almost completely covered (1" sticking out is allowed). I now have OEM fenders and they are about 1.5-2" to narrow.

Would the bushwacker ff or Xenon offer the needed extra coverage?

I have the ARB deluxe bumper and Mopar side bar and I hate to cut the fenders, so must fit together.

Thanks

The Xenon offer 2 widths I beleive. One as an additional 1.5" of coverage and the other has 1.5" less coverage. depends on what you are looking for.

I like the idea of additional coverage to stop some of the sand/ice/snow that my tires throw all over my Jeep but I don't like the Jeep being even wider than it is since our trails are so narrow here in New England!

I don't like the design of the Pocket style flares. They look a bit droopy.

So it looks I am down to Xenon wide flares. They might just fit the bill. What's your feedback on these?

i have several friends with them and what i don't like about them is that they sag in the middle. also, they are made out of a hard polyurethane and while this makes them really tough, i have seen where hits to them from rocks or trees resulted in body damage - fenders looked fine.

More body damage than the OEM fenders will cause when hit?

About the sagging; are they attached differently than the Bushwacko's?

the OEM fenders will NOT cause any body damage or, at least mine have not and trust me, i have hit them plenty of times. they just fold, get scratched up or get torn off. the xenons are really tough and take the abuse well but, translate all the energy from a hit directly to the body and damage it. just telling you what i have personally seen.

regarding the sagging, i think it's just because they are so wide. their narrow version doesn't do this or, at least not as bad. the bushwacker fenders are made out of a plastic and are structured differently so they do not sag. i have a set on our orange jk and they look great - just don't offer any additional coverage.

oh, as an btw: I do have ARB Safari Snorkel which goes through the body near the fender. Any issues to be expected in that respect...

Bestop/Highrock makes a OEM overlay that will probably cover your tires.

Thanks for the tip but that's not the look I am looking for; I prefer the flat fender style. Just want to make sure the have enough coverage and will work with my snorkel

I understand that you are looking for flat fenders, but for what it's worth, I have the Bushwacker Pocket Style. I have 37x12.50 tires on stock Rubicon rims with spacers (can't remember how wide) and they offer enough coverage that the fender covers the tire with about 1/2 inch to spare. Yes, I agree, they do look a bit droopy, but it could be worse. I would prefer none at all.
