i have toyo mt and they are great i drive 80 miles a day to and from work

 

Ive been searching for a tires that will be good on the street and will also perform off the road. Ive been told some tires are to heavy others are to soft and others just simple wear out to quick. thanks for your help.

 

Selecting a tire is all about compromise. There is no best tire!

The best you can hope for is buying a tire that is best for your needs. Do you want quiet, good mileage, puncture resistance, mud traction, wet pavement traction, rock crawling, sand traction, etc, etc... Once you know what you want you start compromising on the other things that are less important to you.

You ought to say what you are looking for and then others can advise you. Also a few of the tire sales sites have reviews so you can research there. I opted for wrangler kevlar because they were the lightest 35" tire I found, they were in stock, and they are true to specified size. Making this choice I compriomised on longevity, noise, mud traction, and looks vs a few of the others in your poll.

 

Now i have the mud terrain tire the original and have lasted for at least 25 thousand miles on and off-road no flats. But Ive been told the km2 will only last me 10 thousand miles max.

 

Don't think there is a best all around tire. Too many variables on what sort of driving you do on the street and what playing you do on the trail.

 

I agree, you just have to find a happy medium for your particular type of driving. Like if you do mostly daily driver stuff and only mild trail occasionally, the some BFG all terrains would be better than mud terrains. If you do more rock crawling, you might want something with more side wall tread. Just depends on you.

 

You need to add the Goodyear Duratrac to your list. It is by far the "best" overall tire I have owned. Granted this is my first jeep, but have had multiple trucks and have not owned a car in 19 years. I have owned BFG, Cooper, and Toyo in the past. I thought they would be a compromise, but have been pleasantly suprised so far!

 

BFG A/T I love them. A few of my buddies with jeeps and trucks like them as well.

 

Another vote for Duratrac. Great off-road, nearly silent on-road.
