Default New driveshaft time. Anyone install the differential yolk themselves?

I drive a two door, auto trans 2008 Wrangler and I think my front driveshaft is on it's way out. I have a 3'' lift, and understand I need some LCA's first. I may have to install the driveshaft myself just because I already need to spend at least $250 on LCA's and $450 on a driveshaft. Has anyone installed the differential yolk on their own? I know WayOfLife has a good write up here (Thanks David at Northridge for pointing it out ) and it doesn't seem too hard. I'v done every mod so far myself and would like to keep things that way, but I was just a little worried about messing up the pinion crush sleeve. Is it a simple follow the directions job or is there room to really screw things up here? If I needed to get a shop to install just the differential yolk, any ideas on how much that might cost?

It is a simple follow the instructions job!!! My yoke had to be torqued to 160 ftlbs. I did that and have had no problems.
So u will need a torque wrench.. 1/2" drive. And a large socket for pinion nut.. can't recall exact size.

sent by rinkish with a phone.

I looked at the Project JK writeup again and it doesn't involve useing the fine inch pound torque wrench. Has anyone done the install as described in the writeup and were there any issues? If that method works fine, that looks like a simple enough install.

There is a JE Reel write-up in the write-ups area. Might give a bit more info.

I've done it on my 2dr with Coast shafts. It is not that big of a deal once you crack the pinion nuts off...if you are replacing the yokes. I had no trouble with the rear but the front gave me problems. Tried all the tricks and eventually I ended up getting a IR231 impact gun ($99) that spun it off in 10 seconds. If you need any other help, shoot me a pm.

Thx...

for the most part, yes, but you need to make sure to use red loctite as well. is there a chance you will add additional crush to the crush sleeve? yes, there is a chance but, so far, doing it this way has not been a problem for most people i know.

well, you wouldn't know it all at once but, adding more crush to the crush sleeve would put more preload on the pinion bearings and, over time, this will cause the bearings to go bad prematurely. you will know when they are going bad as they will start to squeal.
